Ran into trees with a Horse , so decided to eat a car.
1hr 20 worth of 10 min subs, OSC, Tak FSQ-85. Mean compile, slight DDP and a very slight masked sharpen in PS6.
The Kangaroo Nutsack looks better before stretching (OUCH!), but I am not doing much to this WIP. I am going to be disciplined this imaging season and actually compile data :eyepop:
Got to remember to REFOCUS every 30 minutes...even the guidescope .

Well, there is nothing wrong with that one Lewis, nice work.

So that's why he won't invite me out to Wallaroo Marc? Competitive mongrel!

Nice image, Lewis!

Thanks Rick.
I thought I may need to defibrilate my mount - it was flatline all night... (the PHD2 graph and centroid target barely moved all night - flat RA and Dec, and the purple target markers barely danced away from centre.)

Ok buddy, who are you and what did you do with Lewis? actually, looks great with tight as a fish's butt stars and wonderful detail and contrast.

The dust lanes in the large bright patch toward 7 o'clock (the roo part you mentioned?) form a very convincing left profile of a philosopher with a craggy brow, boozy nose, and very protruding lips. I'm sure I recognize him from somewhere.
Good work!

Looks pretty good Lewis, you’ve captured a good amount of nebulosity :)

For a "the night is still young" filler shot, it'll do.

Headed in the right direction Lewis. I’d work on improving the star colour variation, plus that of the Nebula itself. Nicely handled just the same

Thanks Peter, but this literally was a case of main target gone past the imaging window (thanks to a large eucalypt...hmmmm chainsaw....), and the sky was still clear (for an hour), so do something. I didn't even touch it in Photoshop to change star colours etc (only did a masked sharpen). All the stretching and minor gamma adjustment was done in CCDStack.
Plus the LP filter I was using casts a VERY blue tone, so it makes it hard to balance it without really damaging the data (hence why I bought an IDAS LP-DI filter yesterday, ditching the Baader).
Seeing today is cloudy, I may fiddle some just to see what is possible. I also had the Circadian tone filter on the laptop (forgot to turn it off), hence the more sepia toning
