Just in case anyone is considering these, and they are unsure of their capabilities, I found that using the Celestron VSPs (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=7589), dampening time was reduced from around 6 secs to less that 1 sec on my Vixen 4" refractor mounted on a GPDX on a 1.2 metre portable pier.

The amplitude of the deflection appeared not to be lessened, but the dampening time reduced dramatically. In other words – they work very well!

I'll second that, I have an Meade 8" SCT on an LXB500B mount, the previous owner had done everything to try and strengthen this mount/tripod to stop the vibration - he had added shot weight into the legs, added teflon runners to hold position on the adjustable legs etc

I removed all the mods, placed the tripod on the vibration pads and voila! - down to 1-2 second correction. They appear to be made of 3 parts, the base that sits on the concrete, a cup that the tripod leg sits in and a kind of gel in between - the gel is the vibration absorbing layer.

Hmm I'd like those pads, what do you want to swap, astro gear, or something else of similar value, obviously small to minimise freight costs.

An EP , Filter, A 2" Flip Mirror, ooops fingers slipped,. Really not worried , anything I can use, these I never will. cash differences could be used, Things I really need are guide rings for a ed100, another visual back. Whatever guys,
Whatever you may have that you dont use, but I may find usefull .

I have allready 10 15 26 40mm and a 9 guide, any gap filler , ?
No Filters at all yet.

One thing I would like to piont out, this is a brand new replacement set for a set of which one exploded under the wieght of the 14", Replaced under warranty. These are supposed to up to job, apparently I had a faulty one. But in saying that. I would not trust them under 200lbs of gear , even if I had a use for them.
