Taken with c11 @f20 ASI120mm. The varying brightness in the animation was due to my corrector getting fogged without me noticing.

Very nice!

Looks like we were both imaging at about the same time and interesting to compare conditions near Melbourne.

thanks guys! John, great image. I just saw your image on PVOL and our images are only 5 minutes apart. Is yours de-rotated? You sure have finer detail than I was able to get. It always leaves me wondering if my focus was a bit off or collimation etc.. I'm open to any tips that might help, so any suggestion is appreciated . And Yes my animation is running backwards....I'll get it right next time.
cheers

Leigh

Hi Leigh,

It could be just local seeing related or temperature related.

I actively cool my optics to ambient and then take 90 second RGB images which I de-rotate/combine in WinJupos after I have processed the individual channels. So generally with Jove I end up with about 4.5 mins of data. Some others are doing 6 mins, whilst others combine multiple mono channels.

Hope all this helps and look fwd to seeing more of your images!

Clear skies.

John K.
