Paul , I purchased a Meade starfinder with a magellan 1 from York optical second hand some years back , then found the control was u/s more money spent getting the next version controller sent over from the states with different motors gears encoders , fitted it all up made a blooper not ordering the software on cd , they sent it on flopys , work took a different direction so it went on the back burner , now things have changed so back into it , out of date but a scope is still a scope and one thing it has going for it is it is solid (heavy mind but paid for) so time to catch up as last time I used it on saturn it blew me away ,,
Cheers

Hi Spud and welcome to the group, great to see your getting back into it again. Saturn is one of those perfect objects to help fire up the interest again.

Hi Spud
Welcome to IIS.
What state are you from?
PS
The message box is as big as necessary, just keep typing and it will keep getting bigger.

Under the quick reply message box, click on the "Go Advanced" button. That will give you a larger message box.
Is your Starfinder similar to these (http://www.meade.com/catalog/starfinder/12_16_starfinder.html):eyepop:. Now they are serious bits of telescope and mounts. Or do you have the dob version?
