I have not seen the sky for the last 9 days, except a brief showing of the crescent Moon through thick clouds. It has rained here for each and every day since this bad weather commenced with a lighting storm.

The lighting took out my NBN modem. The repair-technician says it took out lots of modems in my suburb. So for 9 days, I have lost my modem along with the internet and my phone. It has felt like forever.

Anyway, I have just installed my new modem so I am back in business!

The sky. however, may not come good for ages. Nevertheless, I am hoping!

Whenever I mumble "I wish the sky was clear tonight", I nearly get lynched here in Townsville. Our Dam has been near empty for years, and any mention of displeasure regarding rain is branded heresy.

Of course, this is the same population that was so excited about a 2nd stadium to play drongoball - rather than build a gravity fed pipeline from burdeken dam...

I've lived here since 1983, and I still don't understand NQ priorities.

My condolences Bob. Rain kills all my hobbies - Shooting, Astro, Motorbike. Having no internet also amounts to cruel and unusual punishment.

The some forecasts say clear skies midnight 31st, so fingers crossed.

Nine days ?

Here in Holland there were only two clear nights in nine weeks. Mostly overcast skies here in winter.

Move to South Africa, Western Cape. No rain, no water from the tap from 12 April (http://coct.co/water-dashboard/?ca_source=Website&ca_medium=affiliate&ca_campaign=Home%20page%20trends%20-%20Day%20Zero%20Dashboard&ca_term=Day%20Zero%20Dashboard&ca_content=Day%20Zero%20Dashboard) but surely clear skies.

I was hoping that Townsville was receiving some good rain out of this.

Yes, there was even a prediction of weather clearing here next Wednesday, so I may be able to see the eclipse!
