m42 and pentax k1 pixel shift

Thought this may interest some, this is a single 30second pixel shift shot (4x30sec) combined in camera 800iso @ f6.5 1200mm vixen vc200l(focal reducer) put into ps cc converted to tiff and pushed 3 stops no noise reduction and not really anything else done.......think i will have to have a go at stacking some of these. might even get it modded down the track:D

Just checked, i did run noel carboni shrink stars action.....just to see what it did

So who needs an astrocam (other than for some mono)?

I remember seeing a Pentax K1 image of Orion and surrounds at ISO 100 in pixel shift mode and being impressed to the point where I couldn't believe what I was seeing in detail/colour and nebulosity. (Integration time/Location/Optics ???). Anyway, it's a really special camera. In FF, it's now also joined by the Sony a7R III (come on Canon & Nikon !)

The next go will be at 100iso just to try it that will give just over 15 stops of dynamic range.....but only useful for the brightest of objects anything faint needs longer
