Hi all :hi:
What are your thoughts on the takahashi FS-78 for a visual grab and go and a widefield imaging scope (+ sky 90 reducer)? I havent seen many images taken with a FS-78.
 :thanx:

Superb!

The images jjjnettie made with her FS-78 (which became MY FS-78) were VERY nice.

Get the FS flattener/reducer, not the Sky 90. You definitely need to flatten.

Wonderful scopes.

G'day Logan, you mention grab and go. Depending on your other circumstances, you may want to consider an FC76 DC, perhaps even the split tube version. A weight saving of 40% on the OTA and suited for carry on luggage if you did want to take it on a flight. Fluorite element at rear so better protected. Not sure if this is of interest, but I am sure the FS78 is a superb instrument. Just a little hefty for a 3" by today's standards.

Yes there is, but you need to find it. The reducer/flattener has been out of production just as long as the FS78 itself.
