I reckon, although I'm not sure where you live, you would have seen a Superb Fairy-wren. This little fella is a Splendid.:)

Gorgeous little creature you've captured so well!

Reminds me of a snap I just took on the mobile down at the bay, of a Little Kingfisher perched on a Mangrove branch sticking out of the water...it too had lovely colouring.
