I have just found out by reading our local paper that the local Astronomy Club http://www.asaw.org.au are having a public viewing night on Thursday 14th April starting from 6.30pm. The location is in QE2 Square which is in the main street of Albury (Dean St). Anyone driving through or in the area should drop in and check it out.

My inlaws live in Albury...I occassionally visit them & take my scope out to the Bethanga gap. Nice dark skies there....

Why would they hold a viewing night in the Main Street with all the city lights?

Thanks Rod we'll be there weather permitting (looks like rain) with our scope.

Our club holds a public viewing every few months in the main drag Ken, usually when late night shopping is on. We can get up to a couple of hundred people pass by and have a look with gold coin donation.:D Comes in handy for the club. And more often than not creates an interest in Astronomy in a few more people. The more the merrier.

I agree Rod.. considering how we couldn't shut him up at the SPSP, he's very quiet on the forums! :)

Hope yourself and Anna are well.

I did not go as it was drizzle, cold, wet and a sky full of clouds. John and Anna will have to fill us all in with the latest Mike.

You've needed some of our weather John. Sorry to rub your nose in it, but the weather has been bloody brilliant up our way.
