Hi Everyone,

Acquired a second hand lx200 10inch and have noticed the diagonal is not holding with the microfocuser.

I have noticed there is only two screws rather than three screws to hold the diagonal? Should there also be a compression metal ring inside as well?

Is there a better method to secure a 2 inch diagonal to the microfocuser?

Thanks everyone :hi:

m11,
It's been a long time since I used a #1209 focuser.....
I had to consult the Operating Instructions!
When I used it I generally also used the SCT adaptor to fit the diagonal/ flip mirror/ spectrograph.
This adaptor has an alignment groove and the two retaining screws register onto a pretty deep groove to lock the adaptor flange to the rear of the Microfocuser.

Based on this experience I'd suggest going down the SCT thread route and use a 2" SCT diagonal etc.
Hope this helps.

Hi Merlin,

Thanks for that. I was worried I was missing some pieces.
I have ordered new Microfocuser quick attach thunbscrews, eyeopener II visual back to make the sct diagonal connection stronger. Currently the bintel sct diagonal is not secure as it as locking ring that interferes with the locking screws.

Thank you for responding :hi:
