Beautiful clear day and early evening. Scope out, fan on, went out half an hour ago and stars everywhere but not quite dark enough. Really excited when it got dark so out I went and not a b****y star in the sky. Even cloud cover across the whole sky :(
Worst thing is that I have to work tomorrow so a late night is not an option because I think it will clear later but sleep is important to us workers. Why can't I be on holiday still??

Ah..it's allright. The 20/20's on
I have to agreeRob,
It was the same here, beut arvo, clear as a bell early this evening, scope out, all the gear on, imaging setup ready, table out with all my bits and pieces.......this is going to be a good night.....ha
Blxxdy clouds everywhere, boy this is the most frustrating hobby I have ever had to deal with......
I can see an observatory coming here very very soon, at least I wont have the disapointment of the set up then the pack up shortly afterwards :mad2:  :mad2:

Drippy drizzle up here. Barely enough to wet the ground.
If it's going to be cloudy, at least let it rain!

LOL! Agreed Harb - I know the feeling. Tonight Jenny and I took the plunge & decided to look for another house with a few acres attached so that I could put up an observatory. Finally. Now to start looking.........

No clouds here in Melbourne :) ..........
.......just hundreds of metres of bushfire smoke blanketing the city, again
We had a smoke haze all day as well but it clearing slowly.
I'm not sure when I was imaging last, It's been so long.
I'll have to get the manual out and teach myself again.
Good luck Chris with the house hunting, hope you find a nice dark site.
Cheers

That's weird Rob, on the central coast it was crystal clear all night long. I was out imaging Saturn from 1am to 3am, and was going to image Jupiter before dawn but determined that it was going to rise behind the tree so I didn't bother getting up for it.
where you looking? still locally? wedderburn fo example...

Yeah David - we're looking in the same general area. Anywhere between Appin, Picton and Oakdale. We need a few acres because we would like to bring our horse back from Cooma. If we can't do that, then at least a block that is well hidden so that people can't see an observatory.
Ooo! secret observatory! ;)
hehe.
you'll need a aircraft hanger for all your cars too :P

hehe.. no. I'll sell my last shirt before that one goes. I'm thinking that a large shed will give me some space, & let me restore it to its former 1980 glory..... :)
so how many shirts have you got to go
(ps, dont sell it! :D)
