This is a really weird looking galaxy, often known as the Topsy Turvy galaxy and for good reason. The galaxy looks like it is being torn apart and upside down. There is clearly a lot of star formation going on with several regions of nebulosity present. It looks as though the galaxy has gone through a recent merger.
Also of interest is the intervening cirrus in the foreground. Plenty of clumps can be seen within the field of view.
There appears to be a large cluster of galaxies of into the distance up and to left of NGC1313.
The image is an integration of 16.6 hours of LHaRGB. Subs were 20 minutes for the Ha, 10 minutes for the luminance and 5 minutes for the colour.

Hope you enjoy the view.

Lovely image Paul, wonderful in color though i'm more used to 30 second monochrome images. Now you did check it for SN?

I really like this image Paul. Nice tight stars, great Ha detail and structure of this not often imaged galaxy.
Great stuff.

Thanks guys for the comments.
Thank Mike and Trish; I know your pain all too well. I hope you get the camera back in working order quickly now.
Thanks Greg, I found there were only a few images of this object and most of them were professional ones. The Atacama image recently appears to be the only other one on this forum. It's a really interesting object and is made all the more interesting by the cirrus in between us and the galaxy.
Thanks Peter I had a cursory look on my charts but could not find anything that looks out of the ordinary. Does it produce a lot of SN?

Hi Paul,
