I have been out for an hour and nothing more than rhe usual activity. I huess its a fizzer this year or wrong night.
I too went out for a while and saw nowt. Suzy's IIS Facebook post does say it is on the 14/15th so presumably tonight is the night.

Tomorrow morning is the 14th Dec UT. The showers peak on these dates but should be visible days before and after.
It's worth remembering that the spatial distribution of the debris that causes these showers isn't homogeneous so meteor frequency varies both with geographic location and time.
I didn't go out last night. Was too tired after an unsuccessful attempt at an asteroidal occultation up the Hume Highway on Tuesday night.
It looks like ACT NSW is going to be heavily clouded tonight, Victoria clear.

Hi Joe,
I also took the night off after Adelheid.
I got up this morning at 3am for the Geminids, but the eastern sky was clouded out. No chance to see the moon.
I may try again tonight (tomorrow morning) but the window of opportunity is very short.
Thank you for the heads-up on this opportunity to help out the professionals.
Regards,
Tony Barry

I was out between 2.00 and 3.00 am this morning under clear skies. I saw 6 faint, fast moving, short lived meteors out of Gemini. There may have been more but I don't think I had the fine attention and patience to pick out these faint, fast flashes.
There was one brighter (perhaps magnitude 1 - 2) slower moving meteor out of Gemini that travelled east to just past Leo.
I saw one large, bright, slow moving meteor that was spectacular. It appeared in Monoceros to the north of Gemini and travelled slowly south with a long trail. When overhead it split into a number of closely spaced fragments with multiple fiery trails. It burnt out near the Magellanic Clouds. It was magnitude -1 or brighter; difficult to tell when one only has moments to enjoy the spectacle.

At 3:30 am I saw a couple but it wasn't until after 4:00 am that the best were on display. There were two absolute rippers, one at 4:12 am and another at 4:41 am heading towards Pollux.
I was out from 10:30 to midnight. Spotted 8, two really good ones , one goodun and 5 so so. Lovely evening for it here! :)

Hi Chris
Only just found out about this shower.
Do you think it would still be on tonight (Friday)?
You might see a few, you might not. There's a peak but they do occur for a few days either side but obviously with increasing then decreasing frequency. I was sat outside with a glass of wine just admiring it all. :D

Saw a few between the clouds in Sydney when I checked; many times for 30mins or so .. clouds made it difficult, but dont think it would have been a big show this year from around here.
