for interest, it was put on line a day early due to the recent heatwave in SA. The associated wild weather took out lots of local power lines - some in the regions around the battery itself .... Nature has scant regard for the best efforts of power authorities.

A very good project, much better than the coal power stations in Victoria (and elsewhere : South Africa, China, India and many parts of the EU).
But one question: Lithium is very flammable, what about when a fire occurs in one of the battery cells ?

Interesting the talking is over...well probably it marks the start of more talk about should or shouldn't.

There's talk here in North Qld of building a coal fired power station to help with the peak power load (and reduce power prices lol). I recon that it would be more cost efficient if they subsidized the cost of putting power walls in private houses, these could be charged with off peak power and thus reduce the load at peak times. This could be done with a highly reduced off peak tariff to charge the units, or with a subsidy to encourage people to buy a system outright. A win for everyone except maybe power company profits.

Powered by coal from Adani mine ;-)
Another reason to stop this stupidity.
But the power walls are a much better idea.
