This is a very solid red dot finder, with typical TeleVue quality. It is the older style with the metal illuminator, in contrast to the new style with the cheap plastic illuminator.

Is this unit for mounting on Televue OTA clamp ring, or for attachment to Newtonian OTA tube?

This Starbeam has the mounting rail that fits onto the TeleVue clamshell or rings.
