My first ever DSO!

Have done much of the Moon, Planets and the Sun and now want to get into deep sky imaging.

This was from the camp at Snake Valley this past weekend. As some may know who were at the camp after the massive downpour we had, most of my equipment was wet. The OTA got water inside and took 24 hours to dry out. The front glass was slightly dirty and there was a mark on the main mirror. Luckily I was able to use it that night!

This was my second time guiding. The first time I guided was at home but was unsuccessful. This time was successful (not perfect but excellent for a second go!).

I used a Canon 1200D unmodified with a focal reducer (6.3).

Many things I need to work on but am very happy of the result!

A great first result Stefan - well done! Especially given the difficult circumstances with your equipment. I wish I could have stayed longer at the camp myself.

Looks great!

In the interest of sharing your knowledge can you let us know what the exposure details were???
