In an article today in Science Magazine (http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2017/11/new-california-telescope-aims-catch-quickly-moving-celestial-events), Daniel Clery reports on first light
for the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF), which was created by retooling the
sixty-nine year old 1.2-meter Samuel Oschin Telescope at the
Palomar Observatory.
