ABC is reporting (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-11-13/michelle-yvonne-simmons-named-nsw-australian-of-the-year/9146146)that UNSW physics professor Michelle Yvonne Simmons has
been awarded NSW Australian of the Year.

Professor Michelle Yvonne Simmons has been performing pioneering work
in quantum computing.

She is now in the running for the title of Australian of the Year.
