Well...

it appears I'm the only fella lucky enough to have had clear skies to have a crack at Saturn this morning...

and silly enough to do so in what was pretty yucky seeing (at best, 4.5/10)

Anyhoo... here it is.

Cassini Division is still quite pronounced and extending all the way to the year of the planet's globe.

If you look closely you'll also see a couple of faint moons (one just above the planet at about 12-30, the other off to the right toward the edge of the frame around 2-30pm)

Hoping these Saturn and Jupiter seasons will add an extra stripe to my arm;)

My usual - C9.25, ToUcam Pro II, 3x Televue Barlow.

ToUcam set to 1/25th of a second exposure, gain around 70%, brightness about 60%

Captured at 10fps for 180 seconds (1800 frames total) in K3CCDTools. Stacked the best 350 frames.

Baader IR/UV cut filter.

Cheers

Nice Pic Matt. I have clearish sky tonight and I don't have legs on my new EQ6 :(

Now, maybe if I hand hold the EQ6 . . .

You gotta watch those EQ6s, Ken.

They're great mounts but prone to getting legless now and then:lol:

Monday, mate. Monday, you'll have it all set up and then we'll see some sweeeeeet imaging:thumbsup:

Good one Matt, I was out to try again this morning but the awful seeing that rolled in around 3am put an end to that. Saturn went from nice to a fuzzball in an instant, followed by the clouds about 15 minutes later :-(

cheers, Bird

You're spot-on, Anthony.

This was taken around 2-30am.... and by 3 the seeing completely broke down.

I was quite disappointed. I was hoping the seeing would keep improving as we got closer to dawn.
