It's been a long time since I posted anything here.
Last month, near full moon, I captured a truckload of data for a large RGB mosaic and at the end I also grabbed a few AVIs of the limb, just for fun.
I'm still working on the RGB mosaic but here's the monochrome limb image reduced to 55%.

16" Dall-Kirkham, ASI120MM.

Small-angle approximation: Divide lunar distance by the magnification of your scope and you realize that you can get to within a few hundred kilometres to the Moon with a good planetary scope. Still higher than an Apollo orbit but a hell of a lot more affordable. :-)

At the end of next July I should be able to approach Mars to about 60000Km.
