Hey astro friends,

This is my first star trails image, at work on the farm I saw this dead tree in the neighbors place, I thought it could be a nice feature for the foreground of a star trails image... so here it is. :D

The exposure was a tad too much on this, the stars are too white for my liking, I fixed that on my next outing though. By about 10pm when i started the sequence, the sky was more or less black in the photos, however by 3am, it was green... just amazing. I have attached 2 images for comparison. same processing for both which was only some shadows recovery... NO colour enhancement.

Sigma 20mm Art F1.4 and Sony A7s.

Cheers
Josh

Same data (which I way over exposed the stars in) but some different processing.

Very good colours . Like oil paint. A lot of patience exposing for so long. My limit is 20 minutes before I have to look.

I love doing star trails and these are great. The mist on the ground that you've captured adds a lovely touch. Well done!

Thank you Kevin, yeah looking at the mist move through in the time lapse was cool as well. Also, an exploding meteor!
