Was not going to take NGC1316 was not sure which way it would turn but I
give it ago I think the magnitude is 12 but not sure not that happy with the
image but I tried see what you think comments welcome.

Looks like a fairly faint sucker and there is another interesting galaxy in the bottom right corner too.

Suspect something went wrong during processing, Martin. You've got lots of little background galaxies showing that your raw data must be sharp and deep, but the main galaxy looks nothing like how it should.
My suspicion is that you've used much too much noise reduction, and then sharpening trying to correct for the noise reduction.
It would be great if you could re-post it without any sharpening or noise reduction, because it seems the underlying data are very good.
Another possibility is that you've processed it as an 8 bit image, resulting in posterization.

Thanks Mike and Trish for your help it was not a very good night for imaging
there was a lot of smoke around with burn off near Perth but I still tried
and the magnitude which I had a look is 14 for the Galaxy need a brighter
object to take and thanks for your feed back.
