I think I am reasonably happy with this. M16 in narrowband. Details are:

Scope: Stellarvue SVR102T-IS
Mount: Orion AZEQ-G
Camera: Atik One 6.0
Filters: Astronomik Ha, OIII and SII 6nm
Guiding: Orion ST80 and Orion SSAG Pro with PHD2
Acquisition: SGP
Processing: Calibrated, registered and stacked in Pixinsight, initial combination and processing in Pixinsight with final tweaks in PS CC

5 minutes x 8 frames of OIII and Ha, 5minutes x 10 frames of SII

Probably needs more data but at this time of year I only had about 1 hour of available time each night to collect data so this was done over 4 nights.

Nice work Malcolm - hey I thought you were a visual only guy?
Good to see you've come over to the play with the A-team, lol :)

Very deep. You've got some great super-faint detail there.

The background is a bit milky. It looks much better if you carefully adjust the zero point for each channel.

Excellent result.

Best,
Mike

Visual/imaging, really what does it matter?:P All photons at the end of the day.
I have a log now of nearly 2000 recorded visual observations, so I am thinking of a bit of a project of starting through them and doing a bit of an image for many of them to enhance my enjoyment of them.

Anyway, glad you liked my little effort.

Cheers

Framing was more luck than design, just how it came out, though having the rotatable focuser does make framing easier if needed.

Thank you so much for the positive comment also Mike.

Thanks Greg. I was very pleased when it came together. Still far from perfect or even respectability in this exalted company, but pleasing for a newbie imager!!

Cheers

Thanks Rowland
Bit a of challenge getting this narrowband stuff organised, but happy when things click occasionally.

Thank you for your encouraging and positive comments! Will give that a try, the background is one of the challenges that I am grappling with (alongside magenta stars, getting colours right, fuzzy details etc!). I was pleased with the amount of faint stuff that popped out even with a relatively small integration time. the camera does produce quite noisefree subs with the Sony 694 chip, which helps a lot with that.

Cheers

Thanks for the comments Rick and H. H I have snuck a few images on here over the past 12 months or so. Just like to keep people guessing.

I had a bit of a fiddle with the background to remove the "milkiness" as suggested by Mike.
