Cloudis Obscuris was the only thing I could see, no Orionis Sparkis around here...... maybe tonight....

Managed about three at the Vicsouth star party on Friday night/Saturday morning.
One of them was an absolute cracker though, about mag -2.5 and it left a glowing trail that lasted quite a few minutes.

I stumbled out about 2.30 this morning and during a 15 min period saw 3 swift, short-trailed meteors.
The fainter pair were about Mag 3 at their brightest. The first only had a short trail of about 1 degree and 2 degrees for the second. I was momentary stunned and confused by the first, as this was the shortest trail that I have ever seen.
The brighter meteor was aprox Mag 2 and had a trail of about 4 to 5 degrees.

Damn that 2.5er would have been awesome. I always miss the good ones. If weather permits I might try again tonight and see if any stragglers are still passing through.

Yeah, that one produced quite a few yells from the observing field, from me included.
