I have been looking for the weight of the tube of the Bintel 12" scope BT-302 I think. Can someone please weight it with finder and all on it please. No mount just tube in Kilograms too.

Total weight including the air inside the dob = 20.1046 kg's

From the box my gs-980 came in : nett = 22kg gross = 24kg

Thanks everyone how much weight for an Orion 80mmED refractor and/or a BT-250 (i think)
Just weighing up some ideas for a 12" on an EQ6.

It will work but probably not to good for Photography.....from my understanding a 12" dob is too heavy....for EQ6.

The weight on the EQ6 won't be the problem , the length of the tube will be,
I have used a 10" F5 on the EQ6 and it weighs 16kg, thats only 2kg more than the C11, the C11 is much shorter and has less torque than the newt tubes.newts are a pain to use on an EQ mount as well the focuser is never in the right place!

Yeh you'd need to put some rings on it so you can spin the tube to get the focuser/eyepiece in a comfortable viewing position.
