I decided to bypass the usual big bright suspects in Sculptor, most of whom I have imaged in the past anyway and shoot this intriguing little galaxy, NGC 613.

With an apparent size of approx 5' X 3' NGC 613 is a small to modest sized galaxy 67 Million light years away in the constellation Sculptor. It is an outlying member of the Sculptor group of galaxies.
The inner nucleus region of the galaxy is a relatively strong source of radio emissions.

All data was collected in one night (Thurs 12 Oct) and I had good steady transparent conditions.

The Lum was taken without any Moonlight but the Ha and RGB were taken under a last quarter Moon.

I was able to reveal the outer very faint sweeping arms that wrap around the galaxy, reminiscent of NGC 1300, so that was cool and the main central body of the galaxy reminds me of NGC 1097 :)

I was happy with the single nights work, hope you like it :)

That's lovely, Mike. Beauiful colour and detail.

The central bar is intriguing with its two linear, slightly offset dust lanes attached differently to the S-shaped innermost brightening.

There's an intriguing galaxy off in the bottom left corner.

A great result, especially for a single night.

That's a great image. Great colour and you picked up quite a bit of detail there.

Nice one.

Sweet! And only one nights worth of data too - well done! Proves that good conditions and smart processing will get you pretty deep - ye dinna need mega data!

Nice pic Mike,
It's about 100,000 light years across which means it's
about the same size as our Milky Way:

Nice vibrancy Mike.
Galaxy has odd looking arms the central dusty bits look similar to NGC 1433.

Good one Mike - inspirational even, loving your galaxy quests
A result to aspire to one day with my new toy. :D

You think Mike?...maybe the two thin inner dust lanes that meet at the very core..?

Thanks Andy, not sure which I prefer to image, PN's or galaxies...?...probably lean towards galaxies though ...yeah, they are the most awe inspiring I think..?
