Has anyone had any experience with this binoviewer? (AstroShop's own "ProStar" brand...)

Good question Mark

Thats the one Ive been looking at. Im told it is the same internally as the williams optics. The self centring collettes my add slightly to the visual path and I cannot vouch for how good the eyepidce system is. If they hold an LVW should be pretty sturdy. I have tested a williams optics which I liked a lot on a solar scope. While in theory the self centering holders should be better some posts on cloudy nights say they are not truely so (not as good as the baader systrm). However they are half the price of the williams unit. Williams you get two pretty good eypices but the ocr from what I van tell introduces some colour. For me on balance Im veering towards the prostar with better eyepieces. The williams unit is much nicer looking though. Cheers David

Oh and the quality of these chinese binos is good although they may be a bit limited for widefield. Still 2 x 20mm 60 degree eyepieces isnt bad. The eye take in only 68 degrees

Up in Bribane now but will pm you when back in CBR

Cheers David
