I hear it's just come out, so is there anywhere in Melbourne CBD where I might be able to pick up a copy at lunch time? I'll make my way out to Bintel at some stage if not. Thanks:)

It's been out for about 2 months.

Bintel will have some, but in the city you could try Big W (saw some 2006 there last year), or Australian Geographic shop.

Dymocks or Angus & Robertson will have it also.

seems like people were busy over christmas! I went to all of the above, plus 'readings', 'mcgills' and 'york optical', all sold out, on order! Oh well, I've waited two months already another week won't hurt. Is there anything spectacular happening in the next couple of weeks that I should look up?

York optical/Astronomy Online in Flinders St (near corner of exhibition) should have them if you dont want to wait.

Try Kirks Cameras in Ringwood if that location is handy.

I've found that after the initial release many general book stores will only carry one copy, maybe 2 if you're lucky, as they don't want to get caught with them. If they sell their one copy they order another - so yes perhaps try the astronomy specialist suppliers as suggested above if you want it in a hurry.
