My son Jack, 9, spent some of his Christmas money on a new fishing rod yesterday. A Jarvis Walker Cool Shark 6' Ready to Fish Kit.
This morning both boys went down the back to the creek and just now came back yelling that they'd caught one.
A beautiful 28cm Bass.
The bait, a yellow plastic squidgee. Jack said he jumped out of the water to try to get off, but only took 10 sec to bring in :D :thumbsup:

The fish now resides in a pond.

The legal limit is 30cm, so we have to do the right thing.
I'm about to go down with him now with the spare rod and see what I can pick up.

Ah yes theres nothing like the peace and serenity of fishing in a stream to help unwind and forget the cares of the world :)

The boys like to fish there at night as well.
I don't blame them a bit. If it wasn't for the mozzies it would be idealic.
I'd like to put up a bit of a shack for them, to keep their rods in and maybe campout as well.
