Here's my shot from Sunday night. C11 at prime with QHY9 and 7nm Baader Ha filter. Subs were 10min, just a bit over 4h with a meridian flip in the middle. Couldn't find a good guide star after the flip on the western side so I had to offset the whole FOV to the right and ended up cropping only the half that had the helix in it. Still, I got all the interesting bits. Bit of stuff up with the guider OAG spacing at the beginning of the night and trying to focus it so lost a bit of time.
I used CCD Stack to calibrate and register, startools and Goodlook, then PS for a bit of noise reduction and added some cool spikes "a la RC". :) The moon wasn't too far but at that FL it's quite easy to deal with it.

Some nice detail in there Marc although why you added spikes has me confused :P

Looks good, Marc! Nice detail on the cometary globules.

Thanks Colin. I just like them. Never got used to bright stars without spikes. That's probably from my newt days.
Thanks Rick. Yeah they came up alright. More data would always be better so I'd be able to deconvolve and sharpen but that looks ok as is. Can't complain with the moon and all. Was an excellent night overall.

Certainly getting up close and personal with the Helix there Marc. Managed to bring out some good detail.

that's really nice marc, are you going to create a composite now? hi res middle and deep outer zones? you've also managed to keep the stars nice and tight. all you need is some OIII for some more spokey doke action.

Thanks Rod. I don't get the C11 out much but when there's a good night coming... :)
Thanks Russ. I want to reshoot the hyperstar version at Mike's place without the LP maybe next new moon if it's clear. I could always use this for the core yeah, although I think it's still too noisy. Oiii, maybe next year. Too late for it now I think. I just concentrate on Ha for now.
Thanks a lot Ray.

Some nice detail there Marc. One thing I like about the Helix is that it keeps on giving. The deeper you go the more you see.

That's really good, Marc, especially for 4 hrs from the 'burbs. It can take quite a bit of wavelet sharpening. The cometary knot thingies came out very well.
If it's cloudy up here at new moon at Placidus, we have plenty of wine and movies.

Thanks Steve. I like Eta better for that. It's a lot brighter with nicer features :)
Thanks Mike. We'll be wining and cheesing regardless
You reckon? I thought it would be too noisy to sharpen.

Nice result marc, I considered doing this on Sun night too but the Moon was just too close to it..so I did something fainter in the SMC instead but much further away in the sky :)

Thanks Mike. Yeah it was a bit close and I probably get a loss of contrast but the fov is so tiny I don't have to deal with gradients like the hyperstar.
Thanks Marcus. Yeah when the seeing is good you've got to go long while it lasts and dust the cobwebs off the guiding.
