I managed 3 hours on Orion Saturday morning before sunrise as the West was getting cloudy while on the Helix. TBH imaging M42 after a marathon on the Helix felt like a mars bar at the end of a weekly regimen of brocolli...finally some photons coming in easy.
Big one here: [2489 x 1862 - 1.34MB] (http://www.astropic.space/astro/M42_Ha_HS3_fff.jpg)
HD: [1920x1436 - 848KB] (http://www.astropic.space/astro/M42_Ha_HS3_HD.jpg)
Processed in CCD Stack, Prometheus, Goodlook, Startools and PS CS6.
Enjoy the view.

Looks nice Marc! Are you going to do a SHO or RGB?

Thanks mate. I have plenty of colour already (https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21ACnUIS_stUVCu-s&cid=6930D3AD12D5044C&id=6930D3AD12D5044C%213251&parId=6930D3AD12D5044C%211054&o=OneUp). :)
Thanks Colin. No, unlikely. M42 looks a little weird in SHO. Bicolor HaOiii would be nice but I kind of like doing mono Ha, just plain b&w. This from home. RGB is impossible and when I go to a dark site I'd rather do colour.

Nice. Definitely something to be said for a detailed monochrome Ha image.
