Say WHAT ????
AU$ 831 ????
Brand new EU$349 (http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p881_Tele-Vue-Panoptic-24mm---1-25----68--Gesichtsfeld.html) equals AU$ 525.
Mow I see that Bintel sells it for AU$408.

It is an excellent eyepiece, I have it for years. Compact (small size) and yet a reasonable FOV, I use it for wide field deep sky viewing and otherwise as a 'finder' before zooming in to a shorter eyepiece.

Buy in bulk I suggest, because it's so rare to see free postage from the USA instead of paying your first born child to get it delivered. Or maybe they have added the $300~400 postage into the price

Almost kakked myself silly the other day - item I was looking at to purchase in the USA was $11...plus $38.40 regular shipping...
Needless to say, i bought it from Europe.

Maybe they could combine postage with the baby goods and kitchen items they also "specialise" in, if you order at the same time.

Indeed, American sellers on eBay usually rip you off with shipping costs. I avoid them and prefer UK, EU or Chinese sellers. Australian or NZ sellers are OK as well.

Postage from the US used to be VERY reasonable - to the point I used to import a lot from the US (large items, and the postage was still around $60, Global Priority). Then Obama whacked on the short lived "Tax" when the US $ slumped dramatically, even for exports TO America ($10 per item sent from Australia that the SENDER paid at the Post Office). When that was vehemently opposed, they just dropped it and increased postage costs to and from through the roof. And nothing has yet changed under Donald.
So, purchase from Europe instead. Last item I compared Agena vs TE, TE came in $24 US cheaper, and the TE item was using UPS express...so you can tell who got the money.

It still is reasonable...

I have bought a few smaller things from Agena, and I have not had postage shock yet!
I think that $9 postage "Security" levy will come back again this year, in time for Christmas. No knowledge, just my consiracy-spidey sense tingling... All to pay the wages of the inept band of space wasters, the TSA.

Interesting considering similar tactics are used here regarding the prices people try to sell things on this forum.
Eye pieces are a classic example!
"Bintel sell for $800 asking $680", when the vendor actually purchased the item when it was less than $600 new.
Double standards "me thinks"

From personal experience I would not trade with this "dubious" seller, after delving into past.

That's freaking ridiculous!
I've noticed that eBay seller has all their items stupidly expensive.
It comes down to the person who actually buys the item. Anyone can ask for anything on eBay and there is always (usually someone who doesn't know their prices) if not that small chance that someone will buy it.
Luckily we here have some brains
