I can't seem to find a local supplier for the smaller sheets of ND3.8 solar film.
I'm building a trial CaK filter assembly and need a small, say to cover a 4" objective, piece of this film.
Can you help???

Hi Ken

I am also interested in a piece of this material. If we can find a one or two others, would you be interested in buying a sheet and splitting the cost?

I would like about a 20cm square.

Have fun

Philip

Hi

Just out of curiosity, I sent a message to Telescope and Astronomy asking if they would be interested in selling a 1/2 sheet.

The reply that came back (quite promptly) from Matthew was that he thinks the 3.8 is no longer available.

He intends to check on Monday. I'll let you know what happens.

I have tried to find A4 sheets before, but, had no luck.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for now.

Hi Ken

I am in the process of ordering a small sheet ($63). I will try to get my finger pulled out and get my brother to prepare a new filter holder me.

Then I will know exactly how large a piece is left over.

I am reasonably sure that there will be enough for what you are after.

OK,
I'll be in it!
Just need enough to make a filter for a 100mm aperture.

Any updates?
I believe the ND3.8 is only available in Europe in the larger size.
