Hi guys, I have found my Canon 700-200mm F2.8L has decided to come loose at the middle of both joining sections of the lens.

I have done some research and found one can actually do the job themselves and fix this, if they are game enough :scared:

However it does entail dismantling the lens and exposing all the working bits. :help: :help: :help:

I have modded a Canon 5D a few years which worked great ago, so what can go wrong.

I will let you know how it all turns out ;)

Leon be careful I had a 28-300 that needed fixing and it came back unable to achieve infinity focus at 300mm back it went then unable to achieve infinity focus at 28mm.After a year of this and $700 later I asked for a refund which I begrudgingly got.I now have a manual focus paperweight and not much time for technicians in that division. My initial problem was for knew stabilisers but I needed a new chip problem was it was an older lens and the newer version was not compatible.
Anyway good luck but make sure you are meticulous in your deconstruction.

Sorry to hear of your woes Leon. I'm not sure, if this Youtube repair video, which shows a looseness which might lead to the lens separation, is exactly your issue, but from the description it might be close or related and therefore possibly be of assistance .....
