Hey guys,

I'm thinking about using a VPN and ive found that many VPNs allow simultaneous use of up to 3 or 4 or 5 or whatever, devices.

I was thinking that, since I use an NBN router to connect to the internet, would it be possible to have the router connect to the VPN automatically and permanently so that every device connected to the router would be then included.

Any thoughts anyone? I appreciate any suggestions.

Yes, but the router must support VPN client mode. I'm not familiar with NBN routers, but, for example, ASUS routers:

Yep, as mentioned above.

However, also note that a lot of VPNs (I'd say, probably all of them) are not as fast as your native ISP bandwidth.

It's easier just to enable/disable it per device, otherwise everyone in the house starts complaining of the slower Internet speed.

Hi Jeff and H,

Thanks for the pointers. I can grab the manual for the router, but on reflection what H points out could be the best way to go.

I totally agree with Humayun. Speaking from experience I would find a good VPN service and run VPN client on each device. I use IPVanish they are pretty good and I get some pretty good speeds from closer countries, but don't just take my word shop around and read some reviews. There are some good services out there and you can probably get better speeds than IPVanish.
