A while back I posted this object as a work in progress.

Since June, I've had little opportunity (fill in your own details on rotten weather) to add more data, but I did accumulate a total of 12hours 10 min total: 3.5 hours Ha; 7.7 hours OIII; 1 hour RGB.

The outer OIII shockwave gets very faint, but I think the extra time was worth it. Not sure about any more, though. Maybe a revisit next year....

Set-up: ASA10N at f/6.8, Moravian 16200 camera; subs were binned x2; 2.5min RGB and 10 - 20min NB all unguided.

New image processed in Pixinsight, finished in PS.

Looks good, Mark. Nice rich colours and you have a lot of the faint stuff showing.

Still a fair way to go to catch up with the 74.2 hours I did on this object though

A lovely image Markas. There is some ringing around stars near the centre that is detracting though (oversharpening?). If you can correct that it will make it a cracker of an image.

Greg.

It is a lovely deep image but I do agree with Rick... Where is that extra 60 hours of data :P

Lovely! The OIII shell is magnificent. One gets a strong sense of it expanding into faintly shown interstellar material, and leaving a darker cavity inside.

A great shot of this awesome object Mark, the outer OIII bubble edges are nicely delineated

Thanks you all for the kind comments.

Ian, I don't have the means at the moment to post a higher res image.

Greg, the artifacts aren't ringing - I think they are due to my not having quite mastered RGB star replacement in NB images.

Rick, hopefully you can tell me whether a revisit next year will be worth it

There's certainly more dim Oiii to be had if you want to invest the time, Mark!

Great effort you must be very happy with your result.
I noticed unguided... your mount seems to work very well.

Russell and Alex,

Thanks for the encouragement.

Alex, the longest I have attempted was a test with 12 consecutive undithered 5 min subs. According to Pixinsight analysis, the 12 subs aligned to within 0.75 arcsec.
