That is so cool - makes you go a bit boss-eyed looking at it though. Hopefully someone on the team wont say - oops - sorry guys - it was just out of focus ;)

I find the band interesting.
I wonder how it lines up with rotation. And is it because of temp variation or magnetic effect or what.

Yes Alex there is some debate around that, and it's not entirely clear what's happening there - "quickly moving gas clumps"?!:

Just saw this wiki page which lists stars that have been resolvable beyond point source, it turns out that there is a few:
