Another 2017 Astrofest image - NGC1977 captured with the QSI683/SN10 on the EQ8.
13x5min Lum 1x1
15x2min RGB 2x2

Processed with PI

Unfortunately this one has the Schmidt corrector reflection. I need to spend some time in PI to see if I can mask it out.

Comments and advice welcome. Thanks for looking.

This image, Corona Australis, IC1275 and NGC 253 are all great shots Peter, a productive Astrofest dude, nice!

How did you go sorting the issues with the Meade Schmidt Newt?

Mike

Cheers Rick. Thanks for the PI help this last week.

Thanks Marc. It was great to catch up again.

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I think I got the collimation sorted in the week before AF. I think the issue is the secondary rotates when I adjust the secondary collimation screws. I've been experimenting with rotating the autocolimator 180 degrees to see if the hotspot shifts. I then iterate rotation of the secondary and colimation adjustment until the hotspot image is not impacted by rotating the autocolimator. I'm not sure if this is the intended procedure but it seemed to work.

Very, very nice.

Looks like it was a productive Astrofest again this year. Hopefully I'll make it there again next year with no eclipses to get in the way.
