Well I've had the PST for nigh on a fortnight now and this morning it cleared for about 3/4 of an hour. :cool: A quick setup and I rattled off a dozen avies.
I tried both the ToUcam and the SAC 4.2. I've had to screw the end of a 2x barlow into the 1.25" adapter to get them to come to focus atm (working on that), consequently the ToUcam was a bit overpowered for the conditions and was a bit fuzzy. The SAC with the bigger chip was fine. Unfortunately the DMK ain't here yet :( . The ToUcam collected just about everything in the red channel (which is what you would expect, but doesn't always happen apparently), while the SAC leaked across the channels which made exposure hard to work out (the red ended up way over exposed). Unfortunately using colour cameras like the ToUcam that only 25% of the signal is collected in the red (anybodies guess for the other channels) because of the bayer layer.
I collected a few prominance shots as well, but they were over exposed and were too hard to match with the disc shots (reads: I couldn't be bothered mucking around with them too much, I'll wait till I get the DMK ;) )
This is the best of the bunch, using just the green channel of the SAC 4.2 (Lot of channel leakage, the green channel should be black :P ). All in all though for a first go I'm pretty happy. You can see on the colour version the problem with exposure with the hot spot (patch) in the top right quadrant.
