First try of the Trifid data collected a few weeks ago over a few nights.
Weather was great but seeing very poor :(.
Was really hoping to get those central stars separated but gave up after noticing only one red filter 600 sec sub had managed to do it.
FWHM ranging from 5.4 to 6 according to ccd.

I noticed doing some good darks and bias removed all my column defects very well.

Around 8 hours of total data. LRGB:thumbsup:

A nice Trifid Michael, great colour, you are revealing the turquoise and green in the dust nicely there, very few images of the Trifid manage to showcase this, so well done . Not sure how it is around the lake but I found the seeing in New Lambton rubbish for the year or so I imaged from there and even Kurri Kurri before that wasn't that much better really, with good seeing a rarity

Thanks everyone for comments:thumbsup:
Nice to know everyone likes the level of vibrancy and saturation in the colour at first i thought it was a bit over done but more i looked at it the more exceptable it seemed.

you are correct Mike seeing around the lake has always been poor (the odd rare exception) was much better in Cessnock for me though unfortunately i have to live where the work is :( Also didn't know you once lived around these parts.

Yes born and bread in Newie

I lived in Kotara but used to image from Kurri Kurri (http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/sawyers_gully) 2009 & 10 with the 6" Stafire, then from my mums backyard (http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/141334067/original) in New Lambton 2011 & 12 with the 12" F3.8 Newt
