Good evening.

I am guessing most, if not all, amateur astrophotographers have imaged 47 Tuc, but I have yet to get round to it until now.

Interesting globular to process given its extremely bright and tight core. I did not realise until I looked at the data that there is another globular 'close by', which adds quite nicely to this FOV.

Just 32 minutes exposure was all that was required through the RH305/SBIG STXL16200. Link to large version also on the page.

Thanks for looking.

Nicely resolved Martin :)
Globulars tend to need better seeing than more exposure as your shot has shown.

I also have not yet gotten arouns to imaging this one :)

Nice 47 Tuc, a target that everyone probably gets to eventually.
The other globular should be NGC121 I do believe. Bright glob cores are a pain to process to keep resolution of individual stars but trying to pull out the faint outlayers.

Nicely handled, Martin.

Framing sharpness detail and contrast are wonderful.

Looks a bit blue. A globular cluster typically contains mostly sun-like or older stars, with a smattering of red giants, and only a very few blue stragglers due to recent mergers of binaries, so most of the stars should be on the yellow side of white.

Thanks eveyone: I will go back and recheck my G2V calibration weights but thanks for the analysis.

Cheers

Thanks very much!

Clear skies and above average to good seeing here in Yass have been regular of late but the forecast is not looking too good as we approach another new moon :-(

cheers
