Should be good in Sydney. Up and early for a quick snap in the morning.

That seems curious Hamish as the eclipse is tomorrow morning, the 8th, with mid eclipse at 6:21am NZ time, 4:21 AEST. Regardless, I will arise early ( or stay up all night ) and watch the moons progress through the earths shadow.

Call me Lowell! :-) It WAS just red (no canals visible though) from being next to the horizon! Cloudy here this morning, hope it was nice for those who saw it.

The partial lunar eclipse photographed in Kununurra, Western Australia, tonight. This shows maximum eclipse at 18:21, 7 Aug 2017 UT (2:21 am on the 8th here in WA). Not a particularly deep one but worth staying up for anyway as I'm on break at the moment. :) Canon 650D & 200mm lens.

Got up early to see that this morning.

Had lovely clear sky and a perfect view, Pretty weird to see a full moon with a bite taken out. :)

Did manage to stay awake and watch and image the eclipse but was too windy to go to my favourite nearby park to frame the images with some interesting foreground trees etc. The images I did get all turned out slightly off focus, bugger ! is always next time.

I was having trouble sleeping, got up, handheld snap with 300mm f4 lens ISO 800. As the pic says - 14 days 1 hr to totality then. 13 days, 6hrs now:D
