A lovely area of the night sky. Bright stars, reflection nebula, a glob and a heavy bushfire like dust cloud surrounded by lighter dust.
The field of view of the Honders and the 16803 gets this wide vista in one hit.
Seeing was variable from OK to poor throughout the night but being widefield it does not affect it too much.

Great shot Greg nicely framed and an area not often photographed. It gives Rho Ophiuchi a run for it's money!

Thanks Trevor.
Thanks Peter.
Everything seemed to go smoothly and it processed easily. Sometimes that happens!
Yes it does look like that doesn't it.
Thanks Ian.

Nicely done Greg. The reflection nebulae came out well and the RH305 would make light work of an object such as this.
But widefield and seeing (as you put it) are unrelated - whereas resolution and seeing are e.g image scale of 35 asp (lens/CCD Camera) is completely immune to seeing, but you get 1.6 asp with that scope/camera combination and that would certainly be affected.
cheers

Thanks very much for that.
Thanks Martin. Yes the power of 12 inches of aperture, high QE and deep pixel wells with F3.8 is nice to image with.
Yes certainly seeing affects it but I was more thinking of badly the CDK17 is affected by weaker seeing than the Honders is.

Looks good Greg. Colour is quite nice and the field of view is wider than I had expected.

Cheers Andy.
Thanks Mike. I do like this area and have imaged it many times in the past.
Thanks Pete. The Honders reaches deep quickly which is what I like about it.
Thanks Paul. Sometimes the Honders and 16803 is too wide and it makes it hard to find a good target and then other objects its really well suited to.
Your 12 inch F3.8 Newt and 683 should give a nice field of view that will suit a lot of targets.

Great result, Greg! I also noticed that you got a lot of red in Yoda's Walking Stick.

Really nice Greg! Particularly like that tiny red thingy in amongst the blue reflection Nebula in the centre of the image. If you were shooting anywhere near the IR it would be reminiscent of a protoplanetary disk :)

So it'd associated with the complete and utter destruction of the protoplanetary disk ;)

I've been battling a severe virus for a while Greg, hence no imaging and generally feeling lousy but this image really brightened my day. It looks great!

Thanks Simon. That image was one nights' capture. 12 inch aperture at F3.8 though is a powerful combo.
