Hi Guys
IC4685 Emission/Reflection Nebula in Sagittarius, in Colour Mapped Narrowband, using 3nm filters.
Big Here (https://fredsastro.smugmug.com/Photography/Astrophotography-1/i-3MQDqKb/A)
The view also includes NGC6559, IC1275 and IC1274.
Taken on an RCOS 10" RC Scope at f9, SBIG STXL6303E Camera and PME mount at itelescopes Siding Spring Observatory.
Processed with CCDstack, Star Tools and Photoshop. 50 hrs Total exposure time.
Mapped as Ha Ha OIII
Ha 31hrs, 40min subs bin1. OIII 19hrs, 40min subs bin2
There are so many different colour renditions on the interwebs, and Georges recent excellent Ha RGB, at pretty much the same orientation is very interesting to compare with straight NB. IC4685 suits RGB and NB equally methinks :D.

Magnificent sharpness and depth there, Fred.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
All the favourite features are razor sharp and clean. Lovely contrast in the dust dragons. The gorgeous translucent crustacean at bottom right is especially well shown.
Wow great effort Fred well done, I wonder if there is Hb worth imaging in this area.
Clear skies Ken.

High impact image Fred. The long hours shows in the extreme depth of the image. It'd have to be the deepest image I have seen of this one.

Thanks M&T, Ive had a suggestion to selectively curve the lum to bring out more colour there and in the middle, its a bit washed out I think.
Thanks Ken. Interesting, I dont have a Hb filter, dont often see one being used, it would allow tricolour, mm, actually I should have tried NII too.
Cheers Kevin
Thanks Andy. Too sexy for its shirt :P
Thanks Suavi, colourising channels sure helps!.
Thanks Greg, actually I curved it down, was a bit messy cranked right up.
Thanks Marcus :D.
Thanks Rick :D
Cheers Pete

One of those objects that for some reason never totally suits the NB treatment ... but still, I'll echo Marcus' comments on this and very Vanderhavenish :D ...and bit Andy Cambellesque too....

That's a great shot Fred! It has a totally different look and feel to so many other shots of the region.
Looks like a palm of an outstretched hand :)

I keep coming back to this one. Not sure about the colour, but the depth and sharpness are just spectacular. Really well done. Love it.
