WO FLT 132 ,Moravian G2 8300
HaLRGB total about 8 hours
Initially processed with Pix and the i used Marcos method in Photoshop http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=138473
Thanks Marco
A bit pixelated due compression, i will post a larger version at some stage
Comments most welcome
Cheers
George
A slight revision, a touch of HDR and the toning down of the blue halo around the bright star as Mike suggested

Cheers, appreciated, a mosaic would be interesting here, great area
Hi Andy, yeah ,its been awhile, not much opportunity lately. I actually started on a mosaic of the blue horse head but the mount was playing up ( sorted now ) , maybe next year
Thanks Simon, as Martin said i am impressed with the Moravian, and the frame and mosaic wizard in SGPro is a great help
Thanks John, lots of interesting things nearby as well
A great camera Martin, thanks for selling it.
Thanks Col, foot?

Thanks Pete, i am pleased also with the result considering the constant smoke haze that is here during the dry season.

It's the foot to M8. Lagoon makes the heel where as IC 4685 region makes the toes to the cosmic foot :)

Well George...this is an excellent image of one of the most beautiful areas of the Winter Milky Way. As Marcus would say, you have handled and displayed all the nuances that this region deserves and done it with distinction and the framing is perfect. As always, I love the black river Nile that snakes it's way through this scene. At full res there is slight star elongation noticeable  but the processing is close to perfect (perhaps just tone down the diffuse blue halo around the bright star at the bottom?)
Very enjoyable, take a bow for that :prey2:

Thanks Mike, high praise indeed from from someone as distinguished as yourself.
I will have a go at toning down the blue halo, also the Nile seems a bit bluish under hi-res, is this ok or should be of a different hue?
Thanks Rick, see Post 14 for the high res
Thanks M & T, will try
Thanks Bo, good to be back

No as I said, I think the processing is near perfect, the blue you mention in the lower river (The Nile is the finer snaking river through the magenta pink region at the top of image, not the longer broader river across the bottom :)) is a saturation thing, don't completely remove it, it looks ok as is.

Thanks Greg, I've been trying to remove some of the blue halo around the bright star as Mike suggested but all i do is wash out the area, but apart from that i am happy with it.
Thanks Paul, its been very interesting comparing the area with yours and Freds nb image, both great images
