A little disappointed I couldn't fit him all in! But if you don't think of it as a lobster, but rather a nice nebula it's not so bad. :P I like how the DSLR starts to wake up at around the 10 hour mark, even though I know a dedicated astro cam can do the same in a fraction of the time. Oh well, one day I'll get one.
GSO 10" F4 Newtonian, full spectrum modified Canon 1100D, 1272 x 30 seconds or about 10.6 hours, HEQ5 Pro unguided.

Is it 10 hours to capture, 20 hours to process 10 hours of 30s subs?
Has turned out pretty good though!

Looks pretty good, great colours too but at full res it appears a bit soft - I wonder if that's the result of stacking a zillion short subs vs. less with more exposure?

Haha, yeah stacking took a while. Had t do it twice too as I had a couple of subs that messed it up.
A single sub is definitely sharper, but most DSLR images are soft that I've seen.

Good image not easy target needs a bit of sharpening but still very good

Thanks Martin. I don't often use sharpening. Not a big fan of it for DSO's. The sky here in winter can make seeing soft also so I'll just accept what I can get.

Very nice for what is a relatively faint object.

Thanks Pete. My previous attempt at this particular seafood was not successful because my camera wasn't Ha sensitive. This is my best to date, even though it's poorly framed.

Definitely has that lobster-shell look to it. Good colours.

Looks good to me too, Kevin! Colour is always tricky with this one and you've handled it well.

Thanks Rick and Mike! I wasn't too sure about the colour so kind of took it from other pics that "looked about right".

Nice Lob!
A hard one to make interesting but you have done well.

Thanks Greg! I'll have to find something else off the beaten path to play with now.
