Filters which ones??

Hi everyone,
Need some more help :)
At a recent meeting I got into a conversation regarding filters.
Here is what I have a Blue filter which I use to look at at the moon and a O-III for nebula
The conversation was that things will appear when using different filters. so the question is which one do I need.
I am still trying to see a galaxy however don't like my chances being 16 klm north of Melb.

Please give me your thoughts as this is a bit confusing on which ones you should have.:eyepop:

Galaxies don't respond well to filters as they are broadband objects. Something like a CLS may help a bit if the LP is very bad. Not sure.

Even being that close to Melbourne you should be able to see NGC253
with a moderate sized scope. As Kevin said, a CLS filter might help a bit.

Your blue filter is fine for taking the brightness off the fuller moons, or you could go for a neutral density (ND) filter for a grey-scale light reduction rather than the coloured filter, and they have adjustable polarizing filters on ebay for not much money so you can adjust the brightness level. OIII is a good all-round choice for most nebulae, and as others have said a decent broadband light pollution filter may help a bit with galaxies, but they're usually pretty faint so I find no filter at all is often the best chance of spotting "something".
