Summer globulars

Spent a great couple of hours last night finding all the globulars in the article in the current Australian Sky and Telescope. I seem to be able to polar align the C8 properly now and every object comes up bang in the middle of the eyepiece. This is an experience I just can't get used to. 47 Tuc was just spectacular. Even my non astronomer friend enjoyed his evening. Certainly worth the effort to drag the pile of stuff down the bottom of the local park. Evan

Sounds like a great night Evan. Did you have light pollution?

That is one of the best uses for the magazines, to get a theme for a couple of nights observing. Sometimes you need a direction or else you start to drift.

Personally, I would like a couple of clear nights to get my scope out in, its been weeks now since I have really had a session.
