Sharpless 2-1 is a very faint reflection nebula in Scorpio.

This image is framed such that you have an emission nebula lit up by the star PI-Sco to the right, then a reflection nebula that looks like a mirrored lower case h in the middle and a dusty star region over to the left.

Dark skies needed for this. Imaged with an F5 scope at 10 minute subs so very faint indeed.

Nice colours, David, and good to see a rarely imaged object.

Very cool, tough target I suspect, good work! :)
Have you considered portrait orientation?
Always good to see something new

Excellent David  this is a faint one, where was it captured from?

Still waiting on my adapters for my new FSQ but this image is making me excited at the opportunities that await :)

I like the cryptic name too :)

Very nice David. A subtle rendition of a difficult target.

Cheers Pete!

I am at the foot of the Barrington Tops so not the best for seeing given "Rain forest starts here" but it's a 30 minute, nail biting, 90kph drive on a crappy windy road to the nearest street light :D

You are gonna love the FOV.

Ooh..had t tried that..thanks

Cheers Rick. I thought I might have pushed the colours a bit in order to bring out the object.
