Well...

Just in time for Xmas:D

My 4x Powermate arrived from the US this morning. Fresh from the hands of one Astromarter to another.

I've never owned a 2" piece of glass before and this is huuuuge!!!

I'm hoping I'll get some nights of good enough seeing to be able to use it for imaging Saturn in the coming days.

I've placed it in the MoonLite electric focuser and placed it alongside the 10mm XW and 24mm Pan to give those who've not seen one of these monsters some idea of the size of this unit.

Gonna have some fun balancing the ol' 9.25:eyepop:

I hope so, Stu.

I've just about sent myself to the poor house accumulating all these shiny bits and pieces:lol:

I don't know how Striker does it? He must have a good broker, or be a lawyer!!!

(Sorry Rod)

Nice one Matt, it's an impressive piece of glass isn't it! Haven't used mine for a while as the seeing hasn't been up to it. Hoping that will change over the Christmas break... when the seeing is 7+ /10 this makes a great combo with the C9.25:thumbsup:

Thanks Rob

I must be mad getting hold of a 4x with Canberra's notoriously indifferent seeing, but the price was too good to pass up and I've wanted one for a while.

Nice to have it tucked away for those occasional good nights, or for when I can be bothered packing everything in the car and driving to a better imaging site:thumbsup:

what a sexy piece of equipment.

i don't care who you are, but that green on black sends tingles up the spine and the excitement levels grow.....

i hope the rain sorts out the fires and then you get some steady seeing for this new aquisition to truly fly!

well done mate
